When photography becomes a passion

Laura Oppelt

It started with a cheap camera from the discounter, then turned into a big part of my life - photography. My name is Laura, I'm a 26 year old self-taught landscape photographer from Germany.

I was born in September 1998 in a small town near Munich, Bavaria.

Grown up at the countryside, I enjoyed being outdoors and discovering nature ever since. Over the years landscape photography became my biggest passion. After I graduated from school in summer 2017 I had the opportunity to travel to France, Mallorca an the Faroe Islands. Especially this trip made me discover my deep love for the wild and pristine landscapes of the North. Between March 2018 and July 2019 I then lived, worked and spent 16 months in Norway. This time had the greatest impact on my photography so far.

Since 2020 I study Geography at the University of Bonn, Germany, with a 7-month-period at the University of Bergen, Norway.
